Happy birthday to McKinley!

Who is 3 years old now?  This girl!

She was eagerly anticipating her birthday, mostly because she has three older siblings to talk about it non-stop for weeks beforehand.  Haha.  She was a champ!   It was Memorial Day, but Dad had to work so we went to the garden center to buy our seeds for the garden.  McKinley got lost.  What a special event for her birthday, she even had an announcement over the intercom..."We have a lost child, a three year old in a purple dress."  She was found very quickly.  :)  Such a great memory - "Remember your 3rd birthday, sweetie, when we lost you at the garden center?  Awwwe."

We enjoyed donuts for breakfast, pizza for lunch, and a  morning at the park running and swinging.  Perfect day for a three year old!  That evening we celebrated with our friends the Smiths, it was good fun.

 Opening gifts - with lots of encouragement from sisters! See that lumpy pink package?  That is actually a farmhouse that we bought her for Christmas, but she had so many other things to occupy her attention...we just bundled it up and re-gifted it for her birthday.  Parenting 101, right there.

Three year old McKinley is smart and sassy.  She has very strong opinions about clothing choices... and pretty much everything else too. I almost giggled when her doctor asked at her well-child check "Can she dress herself?" Um, yes. Will she even let me offer an idea?  Usually not. Haha!  She loves playing pretend games with Rachel and Ella, jumping on the trampoline, putting things in and out of purses or backpacks, climbing the tree in the front yard (with assistance), and rocking with mom at bedtime. She can sing her alphabet and count to 10, she loves to sing and learns songs quickly, she likes to do somersaults and dance like a ballerina.  She loves eating treats of all kind, raisins, fish, rice, pickled beets, and of course, noodles.  She eats most other food too. :)  She likes barbies, ponies, mermaids, anything to do with Frozen, pink things, baby animals, and reading books.  She likes "reading scriptures" with us at night, which is where she opens up to any page, and starts saying the 23rd Psalm (which we've worked to memorize). Cute!  She is happy and energetic and keep us all laughing.  We love our little princess Kinley!
