Independence, and a few Eagles. Happy 4th!

For the 4th of July holiday, we were able to drive over to Hurricane, UT to visit Terrisa and family, and specifically to be able to see Curtis and Ryan receive their Eagle Scout awards and for Curtis to be ordained to the priesthood ahead of his mission this September to Washington, DC (Chinese speaking).  It was a whirlwind trip with lots of adventures!
Terrisa with the boys - Congratulations Curtis and Ryan!:
The "Eagle's Nest;" all of the people in attendance who had earned their Eagle (Kip is in the orange shirt)
Rachel especially loved the Court of Honor.
(We arrived in Hurricane around 1:30 AM...it caught up with her!)
After the ceremony, there was a BBQ outside, which was a great chance to let the kids run around.  Curtis even pulled out a whole set of foam jousting equipment that he and a cousin had made, so the kids ran around and beat each other for while.  It was great fun for them!  Caleb is in the yellow shirt, center:
Cousin Jamie pushed McKinley on the swings:
Rachel and Ella ran around with cousin Sage.
We were also able to go on an awesome hike, Kannarraville Falls.  It was beautiful! (looking up the canyon walls from the floor where we were hiking)
There were a couple of sort-of-scary ladders to climb, but we all managed.  (Rachel and Kinley had riddin home with Grandma and Grandpa Thygerson - they may not have managed so well.)

Plus we got to walk in water most of the time - fun!

Ella sliding down the natural mossy water slide - whee!

We had to drive home on the 4th but we were able to catch a few fireworks in Green River when we stopped for gas.

Happy Independence Day!
