August Rush

In some ways it is hard to believe that summer is "over..." it goes by so fast!  We tried to enjoy the first three weeks of August enough to last until next summer. We wore McKinley out.

We did a round of swim lessons for the older two, and Rachel and McKinley played in the child care at the rec center, which was a treat for them as well.  One day Rachel did not want to go in for some reason, so she just came and watched the pool area with me...and threw up everywhere.  Nice.  Then she was fine!  The kids are pretty much water-safe; two down, two to go.

We had a few things fixed on our car, so it is as good as new.  We passed 200K miles - we're shooting for 300K.  It'll be fun to see if it makes it.  I think we are Toyota fans for life!

We enjoyed having lots of cousins visit us, it was like a giant party before buckling down for school.  We did lots of fun things, including going to an amusement park in Golden that's geared toward younger kids.  Sort of a glorified county fair.  They loved it!

McKinley wasn't sure at first, but did enjoy her pony ride as it went on...

The girls have been trying gymnastics class and really enjoying it, so I guess we'll go that route this year instead of dance.  Should be fun!
