Dragon - er, I mean Ragged - Mountain 2012

Our Ragged Mountain Reunion was a little later in the year this time, since we had three nephews graduating in May.  It was a perfect time of year to be there!  Beautiful.  And I must give a giant shout-out and THANK YOU to Terrisa for taking pictures of my kids for me since we drove off and left the camera at home.  Thanks, Terrisa!

We went on a ride/hike with almost everyone.  Here are the girls at the beginning, on their pony Shasta (led by Curtis, Peyton and Sage are on Hailey, led by Jamie):

On the hike, their little pony took them under a tree while they were crossing a creek, so both girls "got bucked off."  They were a scared and soaking wet, but after the initial shock, they were both fine and ready to get on and keep going.  Tough girls!  Here is Rachel and Jamie on Tahoe (after falling, look at that smile!),

I got on Ike for the ride back and held McKinley with me - she loved it, grinning and giggling the way home.  Caleb missed the riding because he spent almost the entire three days learning how to use a pocket knife to make weapons from sticks or at Files Lake catching frogs.  There were hundreds of them!  There was a little boat at the lake, so the kids would catch as many as they could and put them in the boat, then when it was time to leave, they would throw them all back in the lake.  One or two were pets at the lodge while we were there, but they made it back to the lake before we left Ragged Mountain. :)

 Ella liked the frogs, too. :)

 Rachel, Sage, and Juliana having an adventure - they must have played in there for an hour, pretending to drive all around and having fun.  They were like the 3 Musketeers up there, sometimes literally (Barbie Musketeers, to be specific.)

 No camping trip is complete without s'mores, yum!  Thanks to Clayton and Heidi for bringing the biggest marshmallows I have ever seen in my LIFE.  Seriously, they were like the size of baseball. Awesome!

 It was a great trip and the kids had a blast.  Rachel still is not sure whether the place is called Ragged Mountain or Dragon Mountain, but really, I guess it can be whatever you want. :)  We enjoyed Tuesday in Grand Junction as well, although by that time we were all so over-tired that everything was DRAMA.  We're almost caught up on sleep, and we still have three weeks of summer left to go, woo hoo!
