Every Halloween, our youth hold a "Ghoul Hunt" on the Wednesday just before Halloween. This event takes volunteers from church to wait at specific locations around town; the youth are divided into teams and then have to dash around town, Amazing Race style, finding all the ghouls, gathering clues, and then hurrying to be the first one back. There are rules about how you have to drive the speed limit, and if you get a ticket you are disqualified, small stuff like that. That doesn't stop the kids from yelling in your car every year... "GO FASTER!" "PASS HIM ON THE SHOULDER!!" "RUN THAT LIGHT!" ...and I calmly reply, "Sorry guys, I'm a grandma driver." (meaning slow and legal) This was my third year driving, and...
WE WON! WE WERE THE CHAMPIONS, EVEN WITH GRANDMA DRIVING SKILLS!
WOOHOO!
We took this selfie when got back as proof that we were the winners. :) And also proof that we're kind of nerdy.
Then with our trophy, the gruesome looking doll passed on from last year.
Victory is sweet!
