So I am typing this on the iPad in the laundry room of the hotel- please forgive the typos that will surely be part of this message. :)
Well, here we are in Denver! We all survived the move, thanks again to the family and friends who watched kids, packed with me and gave moral support. As far as I know, our things are safely stored in a warehouse facility in grand junction, until we call them and tell them we have a house to move to. We are planning to be here at least a month, and hopefully in that time we will hear something about a more permanent place.
In the meantime, we will have a rocking summer vacay in Denver. Someone else fixes our breakfast every morning and our dinner twice a week. They clean our rooms, make the beds, empty the trash, wash the towels, and leave microwave popcorn. We can swim at the indoor pool and hot tub, hit tennis balls on the little court, and spend time visiting the awesome attractions in and around Denver. Woo hoo!
The kids are doing well all things considered. They love to tell knock-knock jokes lately, especially in the car when things are a little slower. Kip and I have tried to teach them "real" jokes, but it always turns into jokes that make no sense...which they still think are hilarious. "knock knock - who's there? - towel - towel who? - put me in the bathtub and be a dinosaur!!" ...followed by shrieks of laughter. :). It's pretty funny.
Ella was the tree hugger this week, although probably not in the way you are thinking. She was doing a sparkler firework, watching the pretty colors, running in circles, happy as a lark, until she ran head-on into a tree. She hit it perfectly, wrapping arms and legs right around the trunk and clunking her cute little face. She has a nice bruise line down her forehead and scabs around her mouth and nose, but she was very brave about the whole thing and ready for more fireworks soon after. Tough girl!
We are so excited to be here with kip. It's great to be a family all together again!
