Last night as we were getting kids ready for bed, a little voice called from our master bathroom... "Mom?...Mom?" I walked in there and lo and behold, Ella was stuck in the bathroom. The door was not locked, it was just stuck and would not come open. I tried to encourage her from the bedroom side as she twisted and turned the knob, but to no avail. Luckily, it was Saturday, so Kip was home to save the day.
Step1: Remove the doorknob.
You can see the piece that should normally retract with a knob turn is still hopelessly stuck in the door frame.
Step 2: Employ a variety of power tools to remove stuck piece.
Step 3: Celebrate with liberated daughter!
Step 4: Dispose of sawed and drilled bits of the doorknob.
Until we get the new knob installed, we just have a little peek hole. Haha, nice. But in the meantime, at least no one else will get stuck in the bathroom at bedtime. :)
