Mitchell reunion 2k17 was a hit! We had a blast spending the week with some of our favorite people.
We did so many different things!
Early arrivers got to hike the Indian Creek Trail - Elizabeth and Ella found giant dandelions

This year we had our first "Family Talent Show," which was kicked off outdoors with our resident pipers:
Then moved indoors for singing, musical presentations, dance routines, acrobatics, and more.
For the 4th of July, we had a great idea to go to the swimming beach at Cherry Creek Reservoir and splash around to our hearts content. Unfortunately, everyone else in the greater Denver area had the same exact idea, so we turned around and walked a mile or so from home to the Cherry Creek beach. Plenty of water, sand and shade, no other swimmers - it was a perfect solution!

We tried (AGAIN) to summit Mt. Evans (remember last year, the road to the summit was closed?! Well, this year we made it to the top, but it was SO cold and windy that we were told we could not keep this kids up there by a safety officer in this cool car:

So, it was back to the bottom for a little hike around the lake again.
Next day - one of our favorite places - Castlewood Canyon! We're getting to be old pros around there. Games,

Finally, to bookend our hikes - We trooped up to the Devil's Tower lookout. It was awesome! Look - Braxton and Kaiden are smiling for the camera!

Kaiden got a special tag hung up in the lookout cabin because he walked the whole way up by himself. You can tell he's very excited about that!
I think this picture is crazy looking - Caleb, Gordo, Rebekah, and McKinley, because it looks like they are literally walking on the ege of a CLIFF. It's an optical illusion, they are really inside a crevice and there are safety fences, but the picture is a TRIP!

And, lastly, we can't forget this cute couple, at Cadillac Ranch on their way home, celebrating 40 years of marriage, people!! That's something to celebrate for sure. We are sure grateful to call them ours. :)
