4th annual Turkey Trotters!

We were at it again this year, our 4th year running in the Thanksgiving Day 5k race, wherever we happen to be.  We were in Grand Junction this year, and were able to recruit a lot of extended family members to run with us!  Woot!  I mean...Gobble!

Love those matching tutus!  During the race, the tutus actually made it really easy to find each other!

AND it got us into the Daily Sentinel (newspaper) on the "Local" page - with this photo taken by their photographer!

One hiccup - poor Ella tripped on her shoelace twice, hitting the sidewalk the second time and banging up her knee pretty good.  It earned her a free ride in a patrol car all the way to the finish line!  Policemen are so nice.

I am pretty sure that none of us broke any landspeed records (although some of the boys were FAST!) but we had a great time kicking off Thanksgiving morning!
Afterwards we were able to go home and help get the big meal ready with everyone else and enjoy plenty of pie.  Yum!
