The force is strong, and so is the coding.

After all of Rachel's celebrating, it took a little time to gear ourselves back up for school again.  So we made sure to have some more fun before buckling down.  We all went to see the new Beauty and the Beast live action movie (everyone loved it).

Our last day of "break," we went down to the Apple store at Park Meadows Mall, because they were advertising free classes for small groups of people.  Homeschool anyone?!  It was awesome!  We showed up before the mall was open, all of the kids got ipads to play on and mess around with coding for an hour, and they even gave them free t-shirts!  Win.

 

Then we went downtown to the art museum to see the Star Wars costume exhibit.  It was great!  A few amazing things:
- most were original to the movies
- the narration explained a lot about the process of costuming
- the low budget original series could not hold a candle to the PILES of costumes created for Amidala in the 2nd trilogy (episodes I-III)
- we all had fun!
Those are story board, something Caleb has learned about in his film class at Orchard Options.

These are dresses designed by Rachel and Ella in a hands-on costuming room.  Lovely, don't you think?

 And, never to be forgotten, Master Yoda.  (The girls: "What?!  He's a puppet?!")  They are listening to the audio tour on handheld devices.  Brilliant!

 We did see a little bit of the art museum outside of the exhibit, including this cute painted wall that looks like swings.  We made samurai hats and ate noodles; it was a good day!
