Much like I couldn't have predicted our move from Gypsum in 2010, at the beginning of this year I never would have predicted that by July we'd actually live outside of Colorado, our home for the last 13 years. I was pretty sure that there was an invisible but very real cord linking Kip to Colorado for life! Who knew that Denver traffic could beat it out of him?! ;)
The month leading up to our move was so busy it left little time to feel sorry for ourselves! It was strange to think that we were selling our home, leaving for good, and we tried hard to get in lots of "lasts" before moving. Last museum visits, last pool swims, last tree climbs. Last shave ice from the Ream's stand...

Last morning run on the Cherry Creek Trail.
It was all bittersweet. We have loved the people and the city and the experiences in Parker. It's the only home McKinley has known, and that Rachel remembers.
All things come to an end; luckily it means a new beginning to something else.
After a very LONG squishy drive to Wyoming, we arrived at our home-for-a-year in Alpine, Wyoming around 12:30 a.m. Yikes! We had some time to just enjoy the area for a few days before our truck arrived and the serious business of unpacking began. This meant a lot of firsts! First day in a new town...
First exploring of the Bridger-Teton National Forest, including finding an excellent wading spot in the creek...

First flip-flop lost to the might Grey's River! Doh!
Not bad for our first days in a new place. I think the kids are going to thrive here and We have enough country to explore for months! Let the adventures commence!
