Husky Helper

Oh!  One more thing.  Thursday afternoon I got a call that Rachel had been nominated for a special award at her school; she was a Husky Helper!  Teacher nominate kids when they demonstrate commendable behavior, a nice positive reinforcement technique.
Rachel was nominated for encouraging her friends to include another girl in their playing instead of leaving her out because she had done something to make them mad in the past.  She reportedly told them, "We just have to move forward!" 
I was so proud, not just of her receiving the recognition, but that the reason for it was being kind and a good friend.  Yay Rachel!  (At this point in the presentation, the principal asked if Rachel looked excited about her award.  You think?!)
