No whining zone

At the dinner table last night, McKinley was wanting a refill on her milk cup.  She was whining for it instead of just asking, so I reminded her to use her regular voice, because this is a no-whining zone.

Me: (to the other kids): Should I make a sign that says "No-whining zone" and hang it up on the wall?
Caleb: Yes.  And one that says "No bullying," and "No fighting."
The kids start chiming in with ideas for "No" signs...
McKinley: No tooting!
Caleb: Well, you have to toot...

Hahaha.  At least it stopped the whining!

We've enjoyed lots of cold treat this summer, like these ice cream cones at the Elizabeth Celtic Festival last weekend.
Caleb also had the chance to be a redcoat and face a charging army of angry armed Scots:
He did great, haha.  But he did say the gun was very very heavy. :)

And not to forget our family night at Orange Leaf (frozen yogurt bar), they had a lovely photo op on the store window.
