Rain, rain, go away.

That was the song we sang for most of our Ragged Mountain weekend this year; after the Mother's Day snowstorm we had a cold wet weekend on the mountain for the Thygerson Reunion.  We did manage to squeeze in some family volleyball matches and Kubb games.  And it dried out enough our last morning for the kids to *finally* roast marshmallows over the fire and make s'mores.  Whew!  We almost didn't get that in!  Plenty of indoor fun as well, with card games and reading and crafts.  As always, a big thank you to all the family members who make it possible each year, especially grandma and grandpa T.  :)

Also, welcome home Trey!  It was great to see him after his return from a mission in England.  And, we took Gordo on his first big adventure since he is done with his heartworm treatments, but unfortunately:
1 - we learned we were not even supposed to have him at Ragged Mountain.  Sorry guys.
2 - with the rain he spent most of the time in the back of our car.
Maybe next time, big guy. (But not at Ragged Mountain, you are not allowed there.)
There were plenty of dandelions around, so I attempted to make a dandelion crown.  It had a good run before falling apart!

Good times!
We had another adventure this month in the rain;  our ward volunteered to collect food at local grocery stores for the Parker Task Force food bank - and we learned that cute kids get way more donations than adults, so we stayed in the background and let the kids work their magic.  They even recruited Rachel's doll Lyla to hand out needs lists (with friend Harper Nicholls).

 McKinley was...less excited about our job.  But when she did hand out a paper, she was super proud!

We were cold but happy to help, it's nice to see the kids succeed at something worthwhile to help people in need.  Now, really, the rain CAN go away, we are ready for summer around here!
