It seems like we've spent more than the usual amount of time being sick this winter. Not take-me-to-the-hospital-and-hook-me-up-with-meds sick, just annoying, tired, coughing, runny nose, sore throat, watery eye sick. For the most part there is nothing you can do except ride these things out (and stay home from church or school if it's really bad) - until McKnley is crying her eyes out all night because her ear hurts. Then you take her to the doctor, poor girl, thinking she might have an ear infection, and she DOES but not only that, her ear drum has RUPTURED.
Boo.
SO you go immediately to the grocery store for $221 worth of scripts, only to have to sit and wait on hold with your new HSA company because this is the first time you've tried to use your card and the pharmacy doesn't think it's legit. And she's sobbing pathetically, the. whole. time.
Finally they agree to give you the drugs and THANK GOODNESS because nothing will make her stop crying and when your baby is in pain and there is nothing you can do it is the WORST.
Once the drugs took effect, she was much happier, but for a solid week she was leaking yellow goo out of her ear, like this visit to the grocery store. I hope no one noticed!...
But - Look who is smiling again! Yay!
If we could be a little healthier soon, that would be fantastic. In the mean time, bring on the honey and herbal tea, the humidifier and cough drops. We're going to need them!
