Caleb was a champion AR reader at the middle school this year! AR (Accelerated Reader) is the reading comprehension and tracking program that the schools here use, and you earn points by reading books and taking tests online. Many of the teachers require a certain numbers of books to be read per semester, and they can get the results of your quizzes online.
He was one of the top 25 readers in the whole school, and while he was trying to be nonchalant about the whole thing, he was clearly pleased and read the letter out loud to us before posting it on the fridge. He gets a cool field trip to Idaho Falls, a free book from Barnes and Noble, and lunch at Chuck-o-Rama. Way to go, kid!
